Pires Pulls Out Of Pipeline Masters With Freesurfing Injury
After several exams and one MRI, Tiago Pires decided to pull out of the Billabong Pipeline Masters on Wednesday before his Round 2 heat paddled out.
Pires, who injured himself during a free surf at Backdoor more than a week ago, suffers from a pinched nerve at the back of his neck and was recommended not to surf the infamous Banzai Pipeline.

Gabe Muoneke was hit by a water bottle, chased into a corner, and surrounded by Shanghai Sharks players.
The incident was captured on security cameras, and the footage was reviewed as by the league. Liu and teammate Cai each must pay a $7,300 fine and serve a 10-game suspension. Their team was fined $14,600, the association said.

Derek Anderson of the Browns ruled out for season
Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a knee ligament injury in Sunday's defeat by the Indianapolis Colts.
Anderson will not require surgery, however, and should be fit in four-six weeks. Cleveland are 4-8 after Sunday's loss and Ken Dorsey will step up to be starting quarterback.
