Barry Bonds Roger Clemens Could Get Hall Snub
Bonds is scheduled for trial in March.
He and Clemens are scheduled to appear on the Hall of Fame ballot four years from now, the time of reckoning for baseball's steroid era. Bonds, the all-time home run leader, and Clemens, winner of an unprecedented seven Cy Young Awards, normally would be locks for first-ballot election to the Hall of Fame.

Woman almost sold 1869 baseball card for 10
A 72-year-old California woman recently found a rare baseball card of the first professional team in the United States in her home.
And if it weren't for the intervention of a friend, she would have sold the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings card on eBay for $10. The card has since been authenticated by PSA. The team photo is relatively unscathed.

A German research team has developed tests that will help sports officials stay one step ahead of emerging performance enhancing drugs. The test detects a core chemical structure belonging to benzothiazepines.

Romeo Crennel willing to stay if new coach agrees
The Romeo Crennel era in Cleveland -- with Crennel as head coach -- is over.
But his coaching career with the Browns might extend beyond this season, under the right circumstances.Crennel told the Cleveland Plain Dealer in a phone interview Monday that he'd be willing to stay if the new coach wanted him on his staff.
